Green Film Lab in Poland

Workshop in Warsaw, 15th - 18th June 2023

Thanks to a practical, project-based and hands-on approach Green Film Lab allows you to dive into environmentally sustainable practices in audiovisual production. The programme is organised by TorinoFilmLab and GREEN FILM in collaboration with EAVE, and it aims at training film professionals on how to apply a green protocol and get a certification. 

The upcoming three-day workshop will be held in Warsaw (Poland) between 15th and 18th June in collaboration with Polish Film Institute and looks for*:

  • FILM AND SERIES INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS involved in the pre-production and production stages, interested in getting and improving their skills in sustainable practices on set and applying WITH or WITHOUT a project;
  • FUNDS, FILM COMMISSIONS, FILM INSTITUTIONS DELEGATES interested in knowing more about sustainability on set;
  • SUSTAINABILITY MANAGERS (professionals with at least two years of experience) interested in learning how an audiovisual production is carried out.

*Especially welcome applications from professionals who live in Poland and the nearby region, professionals who got support from the Polish Film Institute and/or who will shoot in Poland.

The participants will learn how to apply the current best practices in terms of energy saving, transport, accommodation, catering, set decoration, waste management, recycling and communication. The training is based on the Green Film Rating System and its two main features: the sustainability plan and the certification process for audiovisual projects.  Each workshop is open to 24 participants selected to work in groups guided by tutors with wide experience in film industry, on audiovisual projects submitted and almost ready to begin filming.

Among the pedagogical experts involved in the workshop: the Head of Studies Giovanni Pompili – Italian producer and TFL alumnus, Louise Marie Smith (UK) – founder and managing director of Neptune Environmental Solutions, Lucie Trémolières – French-based writer and director for all kinds of dramatic media with a special focus on different emotional responses to the environmental crisis and Dörte Schneider Garcia – Portugal-based experienced assistant director and green consultant. 

 

Green Film Lab offers a number of intensive 3-day workshops, held in English, that take place along the year in different European countries and regions, in collaboration with film institutions and funds.

Green Film Lab is organised by TorinoFilmLab and Green Film, promoted by the National Museum of Cinema and Trentino Film Commission, in collaboration with EAVE. Supported by Creative Europe – MEDIA Sub-programme of the European Union.
