The green issue addressed at Venice

During the 79th edition of the Venice International Film Festival, Green Film took part in two important moments of discussion about the sustainability issue in the audiovisual industry.

The 5th of September at the Italian Pavilion, the panel Italy for Green organised by Cinecittà and Italy for Movies took stock of environmental sustainability in the film and audiovisual industry.
The speakers were Chiara Sbarigia – President of Cinecittà, Eliana Caramelli – DG Circular Economy – CAM Group, Cristina Priarone – President of the Italian Film Commissions, Luca Ferrario – Director of Trentino Film Commission, Carmen Diotaiuti – Operations Manager and Deputy Director Italy for Movies, Giovanni Pompili – Producer (Kino Produzioni), Chiara Valenti Omero – President AFIC, Laura Zumiani – General Programme Manager Trento Film Festival.

On September the 7th it was the turn of the round table “Sustainable Screens 2022“, organised by Green Cross in collaboration with ENEA, ANEC and Fondazione Sardegna Film Commission at the Venice Production Bridge at the Excelsior Hotel. The meeting analyzed all the best practices of sustainability in the world of cinema, from productions to theatrical distribution. The discussion was organized in three moments: the environmental issue in the writing stages; sustainable productions between good practices and certifications; and the efficiency and regeneration of theaters.
