The documentary examines one of the most violent and mysterious chapters in Italian crime history from the 1970s and 1980s: the trail of blood left by the neo-Nazi group “Ludwig,” behind which hid two seemingly innocent young men from Verona’s upper middle class, Wolfgang Abel and Marco Furlan. Through witness accounts, investigations from that era, and previously unpublished documents, the film reconstructs the brutal ideological murders carried out by the group—aimed at “cleansing the world” of outcasts, homosexuals, drug addicts, and priests—leading up to their sensational arrest in 1984.
