Another journey around the sun is complete, and we’re thrilled to say it’s been a truly full and enriching year, packed with new achievements, challenges, and countless opportunities for growth. Here’s an overview of the highlights that stood out over the past months:
We’ve reached a milestone: over 300 certified projects!
From feature films and documentaries to series, TV programs, short films, and commercials — not only in Italy, but in many other countries: from Denmark to Spain, passing through Belgium, Portugal, Croatia, Iceland, Finland, Ireland, and Poland.
This achievement reflects the growing commitment to sustainable practices in the audiovisual industry across Europe. Many Green Films have premiered at the most prestigious festivals such as the 78th edition of the Festival de Cannes and the 82nd edition of the Biennale Cinema.
Throughout the year, the international collaboration between Green Film, Ecoprod, and CineRegio has led to the release of the Green Animation International Guide, and the work continues to develop a common European standard for sustainability in the animation sector.
This ambitious initiative was officially presented at MIA Market 2025 during the dedicated panel “ANiMPACT: A common European approach to sustainable animation”, reinforcing the shared commitment to building a more sustainable animation industry.
Knowledge nourishes our minds like sunlight nurtures flowers, enabling growth and innovation.
Once again this year, our calendar featured international workshops and advanced training programs aimed at fostering sustainability in the audiovisual sector:
Last but not least, a new feature of the Green Film website, intuitive and user-friendly, will help producers, Sustainability Managers and Verifying Bodies to manage all Green Film certification requests from a single entry-point: fill in the forms, upload all required documents, submit applications, track the status of the certification process anytime.
If 2025 was a year of remarkable achievements, 2026 is already shaping up to be even more ambitious. After reaching key milestones and strengthening international collaborations, we are ready to set new goals, explore innovative projects, and continue driving sustainability across the audiovisual industry. The future holds exciting challenges — and we can’t wait to embrace them!
