Trentino Film Commission proudly continues its sustainable revolution in the world of cinema.
We celebrate an important milestone for the audiovisual sector: over 300 productions, including films, television series, documentaries, commercials, and short films, have obtained sustainability certification Green Film.
This result demonstrates the steady growth of an environmentally conscious production model that is now recognised at European level. More and more productions are choosing to adopt sustainable practices, helping to transform the audiovisual industry into a green industry.
Many of the certified titles have distinguished themselves for their quality and impact, winning international awards and finding a place in the world’s leading film festivals.
Among those we find the multi-awarded Vermiglio of Maura Delpero, included in the shortlist of the fifteen best international films selected by the Academy for the 2025 Oscars, and blockbuster Follemente of Paolo Genovese. Testa o Croce? di Alessio Rigo de Righi and Matteo Zoppis and Le città di pianura of Francesco Sossai are Green Film as well, presented at Cannes Film Fest this year, out now aside Tre Ciotole of Isabel Coixet and La valle dei sorrisi of Paolo Strippoli, also certified.
Documentary series as Le città del futuro (Italy) and Kanviem? (Spain) that talks about important issues related to climate change and famous international television formats, including the Danish editions of X Factor and Ballando con le stelle, have also been certified Green Film.
Indeed, numerous productions have now obtained Green Film certification in other countries, from Denmark to Spain, Belgium, Portugal, Croatia, Iceland, Finland, Ireland and Poland.
Of course Green Film willbe at Rome Film Fest, confirming its role as a benchmark for sustainability in the audiovisual sector. Four certified titles will be presented to the public: Illusione by Francesca Archibugi (with Jasmine Trinca, Michele Riondino, Angelina Andrei and Vittoria Puccini); Stella gemella by Luca Lucini (with Margherita Buy and Martina Gatti); Gli occhi degli altri by Andrea De Sica (with Filippo Timi, Jasmine Trinca, Matteo Olivetti and Anna Ferzetti) and Alla festa della rivoluzione by Arnaldo Catinari with Valentina Romani, Nicolas Maupas and Riccardo Scamarcio.
Another certified title will be presented at Alice nella Città in the Sintonie section: Un anno di scuola (A Year at School) by Laura Samani.
