From October 6–10 in Rome, the 11th edition of the MIA will once again be certified ISO 20121, thanks to the long-standing partnership with Trentino Film Commission and Green Film.
For the seventh consecutive year the MIA Market will be completely green, continuing its mission on creating a market event that is totally sustainable from an environmental, social and economic point of view.
Thanks to its established partnership with Green Film, the 2025 edition of MIA will once again offer concrete initiatives aimed at producers and audiovisual professionals to promote sustainability on set, such as:
But the big news lies in the extension of this opportunity to projects in the Animation section – in addition to the Doc, Drama and Film divisions – confirming MIA’s increasingly inclusive commitment to all components of the production chain.
Among the activities dedicated to sustainability, there will also be a panel dedicated to sustainable animation, to be held on Thursday 9 October at the Multisala Barberini:
“ANiMPACT: a common European approach to sustainable animation”
It will focus on the work of the international working group led by Green Film, Ecoprod and CineRegio, which is collaborating on the development of a common European certification for sustainability in the animation sector. The session, moderated by Maria Rua Aguede, will present the progress of the initiative, address the specific challenges of sustainable production in animation and share some concrete suggestions for reducing the environmental impact of an animation project.
SPEAKERS: Linnea Merzagora (Green Film), Adrien Roche (Ecoprod), Valentína Hučková (Sustainability Manager di CEE Animation), Pedro Citaristi (Cartoon Italia).
MIA 2025 keeps so to stand out as a concrete example of an international event capable of integrating innovation, responsibility and sustainability, offering tools and opportunities for growth for an increasingly aware audiovisual industry.
