In October 2022, during a recording session, Piero Pelù fainted due to a sudden shock that caused permanent damage to his auditory nerve and led to severe depression. The “inner noise” becomes a forced opportunity to pause, rediscover himself, recharge, and write a new album dedicated to inner deserts. Through a full immersion in his inner world, one of the leading figures of the Italian rock scene finds his way again.
The film, punctuated by Pelù’s participation in the annual Romani pilgrimage to Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer in the Camargue in honor of Sara la Nera, the patron saint of travelers, transforms into a road movie and a reflection on more than forty years spent “off the beaten path” as a free and fearless figure in the Italian music scene.
