The first in‑person training workshop of Green Skills for Cinema & Audiovisual
Production (GreenSCAP) took place in Venice, building on the foundations introduced during the online modules.
Producer Serena Alfieri, together with Sustainability Manager Claudio Savelli, introduced students to the inner workings of a film set. The discussion covered production workflows, differences between studio and on‑location shooting, and the importance of integrating sustainability into planning. A dedicated focus was placed on the role of the Sustainability Manager as a facilitator between governance, technical departments, and sustainable decision-making.
Meeting with local professionals was key in understanding what are the main challenges productions encounter when planning sustainability. Thanks to Etimo, Ginko Film, Hive Division, Kublai Film, Maco Film for letting the participants into their experiences: sharing is caring!
The workshop concluded with shared reflections and a strengthened understanding of how sustainability can be embedded into every phase of audiovisual production.
