ANiMPACT | Standards Pilot Phase begins with global industry endorsement

July 2, 2026

Two years of mobilisation, over 110 organisations and professionals engaged, 30 countries represented: the ANiMPACT Standards enter their pilot phase with strong and broad industry backing.

Over the past two years, we have been gathering the pieces needed to complete the puzzle of sustainable animation.

Last week, this ongoing effort combined at the International Animation Film Market MIFA in Annecy: providing the perfect stage to present the launch of the Pilot Phase open to ongoing and upcoming projects, which can apply to test the standards and their feasibility. Pilot projects will implement selected measures, provide feedback, and directly shape the final framework. Eligible projects must be completed, or at an advanced stage of production, by June 2027.

During the conference “Greening European Animation,” Alissa Aubenque (Head of operation of EcoProd) gave voice to the ANiMPACT collective effort and the progress achieved over the past months. The discussion, together with Jean-Baptiste Wery (OOOLALA), Valentina Huckova (CEE Animation), and Ann Mulrooney (Cartoon Saloon), also explored European and national policy perspectives, Anim’France’s tool Carbulator as well as creative approaches to reducing environmental impact across production pipelines.

Additionally, Green Film hosted one-to-one meetings with producers who were keen to gain deeper insights into sustainable practices, thereby further enhancing the Green Film network and fostering new collaborations.

How to be a Pilot Project

The ANiMPACT tea co-organised a presentation webinar in partnership with StepUp. The session covered the consultation results, the structure of the pilot phase and practical steps for engagement, as well as presenting the new e-learning course on Green Animation.
